Proven New Zealand Design
Designed and developed in New Zealand, home of the America's Cup, over 1300 Wetas have been sold around the world since it was launched with a splash in 2009.
Watch the video to hear Roger Kitchen, MD of Weta Marine, explain how the Weta was designed to make sailing fun, fast and easy.

Solo Friendly
Most solo sailing boats are tippy and require considerable effort  but the built-in stability of the Weta means that anyone can enjoy sailing in almost any conditions - it's very forgiving of mistakes and hard to capsize - but if it ever does go over you have the assurance that you can right it without assistance. And with stable speeds up to 20 knots you can really enjoy yourself.

Family Friendly
Unlike other beach dinghies, the Weta is a boat the entire family can enjoy because it's so stable.  Sail together using the comfortable wide trampoline area. Use it to teach and involve the kids in sailing,  Or go for a burn on your own. You can do it all with a Weta which provides high performance without fear of capsize.

Senior Friendly
Why should kids have all the fun?
In most dinghies you quickly get tired when the wind gets up, but the Weta is lightweight, comfortable, safe and easy to sail - whatever your ability or mobility. But it's still fast enough to be exciting.
It has been approved for the World Masters Games and Paralympics - and masters Weta owners have even completed marathon events over 300 miles (650 Kms).

Tack and Gybe with ease
For anyone who has mobility issues or sails solo and finds tacking or gybing the sails difficult while holding on to the tiller, the new self-tacking jib kit will make a huge difference to your enjoyment of the Weta. The kit comes complete with everything you need and the is included in the deck mould for new boats or glued into place for older boats - no holes in the deck required. Combine it with twin tiller extensions for effortless sailing, and even planing gybes, whatever your ability.

Compact storage
The Weta packs down to the footprint of a Laser (4.4m x 1.7m) on its custom fit, lightweight beach trolley.  So it's easy to keep in your garage or the boat park. And its' light weight means it can easily be towed by a family car.

Quick & Easy Setup
Lightweight and simple - rig and launch by yourself in 15 minutes without effort. It comes with everything you need including the launch trolley. The colour co-ordinated ropes and sails make rigging quick and easy.

One Design Class
The Weta has an active base of racing fleets around Australia and across the world for both solo and two-crew racing. And unlike many dinghies, it's a one-design boat made with modern, robust components and sails - so there's no need to keep spending a fortune each season to keep up.
Picture
Professional quality manufacturing
Unlike plastic beach dinghies, the Weta is hand-crafted using the latest lightweight foam core materials to create a precision fit, and uses carbon fibre for strength and durability for the mast, rudder, daggerboard, float arms and bowsprit. Manufacturer, Xtreme Sailing Products, is one of the top 3 sailing dinghy manufacturers worldwide.

Speed when you need it
The furling gennaker is the Weta's secret weapon: Unfurl it for downwind speed up to 20 knots but then quickly furl it for control in the gusts. Or use it in light winds as a "Code Zero" genoa - so you can keep moving when other boats are stationary.

Sails for every wind strength
Redesigned by North Sails in 2017, the bi-radial cut mainsails provide manageable high performance in all conditions. The Standard 8.3 Sail is great for beginners or strong winds. The Square Top 9.3 Sail gives more speed in light winds and effortless power up to 20 knots.  Either sail can be used for racing. A larger gennaker, furling jib and smaller mainsail are available for even more flexibility.

The best equipment
Weta only uses parts from leading marine manufacturers such as North Sails, Ronstan, Harken, Liros Ropes and Kilwell Fibretube

Twin Tiller Extension Kit available
The Twin Tiller extension kit enables you tack and gybe quickly and easily - just by dropping the active tiller and crossing the boat to pick up the one on the other side.  The shockcord and ring system included stops the inactive tiller from dragging in the water so you can concentrate on smoother tacks. Ideal for anyone who finds has difficulty crossing the boat, wants to improve their boat handling or sails with a crew who objects to getting a tap on the head during each tack.

Everything Included for a remarkable price
The Weta comes with everything you need to go sailing - three North sails, Ronstan & Harken deck fittings, colour-coded Liros ropes, custom aluminium launching trolley, colour coded sail bags, carbon tiller and tiller extension, carbon foils and custom foil bag.
Optional extras include an outdoor boat cover and a lightweight custom road trailer.

All of this is included with your Weta from dealers in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne (Delivery extra).
If you'd like to try a Fun, Fast, Easy Weta without obligation to purchase, or require further information,  contact your local dealer directly using the contact details at the foot of the page.
